CRISTI RICHARDS

Owner & Executive Chef

Love of travel and amazing food led Cristi to train at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris.  Each of her travels leads to more flavors and tastes as she learns from local chefs, bakers and artisans.  Now back home, she combines the sweet tastes of Paris with tropical flavors and unique designs to create custom pastries for Kama'aina and Hawai'i guests alike.

Since starting Sucré: A Pâtisserie and Epic Cakes and Pastries, Cristi and her team have created a diverse collection of wedding cakes from small and intimate ceremonies to large, multi-tier cakes serving hundreds of guests.  Her cakes are designed to her customers’ exacting specifications. From the precise color of fresh floral arrangements to personalized flavor combinations, she has yet to reach the limit of her creativity.

She uses only the freshest, high-quality ingredients–sourced locally whenever possible. Many of her creations feature her own lightly sweetened Swiss-meringue buttercream, developed especially for Hawaii’s heat and humidity.

Drawing from her time in Paris, Cristi can add individual dessert creations–Petits Gâteaux–to elevate any special event to the extraordinary.  Her clients have delighted in her creations, whether they be for a birthday, graduation, christening, anniversary, baby shower, or other event.

Pastry Chef & Cookie Magician

What started out as a hobby in 2021, quickly became a side business and has blossomed into my lifelong passion. I started ZadieBakes while living and attending high school in Japan, where I was blessed with the overwhelming support of a US Navy community that quickly became my primary clientele. I have created hundreds of cookies to celebrate birthdays, baby showers, holidays, and special events. Having now moved back to Hawai`i, I am thrilled to join EpicCakesHawaii to spread cookie joy in my island home.

"Even if you don't have a special event planned, make one up! All of Sucre's creations are both a work of art and a palate pleaser. I have placed two separate order for myself and clients/friends and everyone has really enjoyed the edible art that comes from their kitchen.

It is really special to have handmade treats that support a local company where the money stays in Hawaii and goes to support their growth. I look forward to having them around for a very long time."
